Something soft yet sturdy. It must stay on my shoulder while running to catch a train. It must be able to close, in some way, either zip, snap or tie; and it must not be too large as to overwhelm me or those I am knocking out of the way to get a seat on Amtrak.

I may even go the route of making one myself... kind of adoring this Amy Butler Pattern with the possible color combos below. The bag will be nice and sturdy given the swatches are home decor fabrics.
