Bloom and Grace: Jewelry for a cause

It's time to shop for a cause!

Bloom and Grace has just launched and I couldn't be more excited to talk about it. Every bracelet and necklace sold will vaccinate children in developing countries, as well as help support local artisans. Each piece is priced to vaccinate either 3, 6, 9 or 12 children. For only $180, and one very awesome necklace, you can vaccinate 12 children!

Full disclosure, the founder is one of my nearest and dearest friends. I love her passion for this cause and the dedication she has brought to it. I could not be prouder!

Below are just a few of my favorites. These are great for spring! So get out there and shop for a cause!

Enjoy! xoxo

Bloom and Grace: Jewelry for a cause

1st row: Diani Beach Necklace ($135, vaccinates 9 children), Silver Metal Mesh Wrap ($90, vaccinates 6 children), Lapis Bib ($180, vaccinates 12 children)
2nd row: Black Gatsby Cuff ($90, vaccinates 6 children), Invincible Necklace ($135, vaccinates 9 children), Silver Chain Wrap ($90, vaccinates 6 children)

The Diani Beach necklace is my absolute favorite in the collection. It is perfect for spring with it's bright blue colors and pops of pink. It is a statement piece so keep the remainder of your look simple.

Friday Finds: Escaping the Cold

I am making an escape. The Little Guy and I are tagging along to sunny Florida this weekend for some much needed warmth. Luckily, my ASOS shipment with some fun little maternity swimsuits arrived just in time!

I dug out the shorts and t-shirts for the Little Guy, only to realize that he has grown so much he doesn't fit into any of them, yikes! So, he will be rocking short sleeve polo shirts and one pair of khakis the next few days, could be worse.

If you can plan an escape here are some favorites for a nice little sojourn from the freezing cold. Enjoy and XO!

Friday Finds: Dressing the Bump

When I was pregnant with my first, I was working 50 hours a week in a corporate environment. My daily wardrobe varied from pants, skirts, dresses, and occasionally jeans. All accessorized and styled. Now that I am a stay-at-home mom my wardrobe is entirely different, jeans, more jeans and the occasional dress.

I really took for granted the blessing of working while pregnant. Every morning I woke up and literally "got ready for work." Hair, makeup, outfit. I left the house feeling ready for the day ahead. Now, if I wash my face before noon I feel accomplished. It is taking it's toll on me. I need to feel the importance of "getting ready" again. For me, "getting ready" makes me feel better, gives me a little boost, and even helps me focus more on my little guy and the day ahead. And who doesn't want that?!

At 16, almost 17 weeks, my bump has already popped. Luckily my pants still fit (thank you, Tummy Sleeve) but forget the skirts and dresses. It's time to find some pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe so when I "get ready" everyday it feels styled and complete, and also pretty darn good.

For all the moms and moms-to-be, give yourself permission to "get ready" everyday. Trust me when I say, it makes a world of difference. Enjoy and XO.

Hello, Hello, it's good to be back

Oh, how I have missed this blog.

As you can see from my last dated post, I completely missed the month of October, but for VERY good reason.

We bought our first home! GULP! What a process that is. There is so much excitement when you walk into a house and fall in love with it. Then there is the build up to making a bid. After that, negotiations begin, then inspections and then more negotiating. By the time we were done I just wanted to take a nap and have a large glass of wine. Which brings me to the next piece of news, Baby #2 is due in May, so no large glass of wine for this mama, just a small one :)

While I have been keeping up with Fall trends, Spring runways, meeting clients and attempting to complete my Fall trend board, I am also deep in the throws of interior design. So my creative hat is about 3 times larger than usual, which I LOVE. I just wish my energy level was that high, too!

I have been pinning away on my "Home is Where the Heart is" board on Pinterest. So please feel free to follow it and see inspiration and ideas for the interior of our new home.

Below are a few favorites. What's new Wednesday will be back this week, too!

Enjoy and BIG XO

Dining Room: Love the blue walls

Kitchen: I adore a white kitchen

Decoration: A great use of space and photos

What's new Wednesday: Black leather skirt

Back in NYC after a lovely trip home to CA. I am finally settling into EDT, and after three difficult nights the little guy seems to be back on track, too. We are in the throws of Spring 2014 runway shows, and there will be lots to review in the weeks ahead. But, right now, I am focused on Fall and all the glorious knits, prints and skins that come with it.

Leather skirts made a strong statement for Fall. Whether it is pleated, full, pencil, trimmed or mini, this is a sure bet to add to your cool weather collection. Splurge worthy options below...

What's new Wednesday: Leather skirts splurge

Jay Ahr $2,020 / Derek Lam $3,140 / Alice + Olivia $495 / Diane von Furstenberg $375

And, my favorite pocketbook friendly choices, some real leather and others so good they might as well be... Enjoy!

One shirt, Three ways

I am packing for another trip to CA. This time for the wedding of my dear friend in Newport Beach. Then I travel north to SF to visit my family and new niece!! So, strategic packing is key. I have one rolling suitcase and one purse, as usual. I love the versatility of this chambray shirt. Because it isn't too light or dark in color it can be styled in many ways, with many different colors. Not to mention, I can just throw it on as a jacket when the temp drops in the evening.

Three of the outfits planned for my 10 day trip are below. I try to pack items that can be styled interchangeably with other items in my suitcase, and I wear my heaviest shoes on the plane. Now it's time to roll everything up and get to the airport! Enjoy!

H&M pants, Aqua necklace, Michael Antonio wedges, vintage purse

AG jeans, Chelsea Crew wedges, vintage purse and bracelets, thrifted earrings

Club Monaco skirt, Aqua necklace, J.Crew sandals, vintage purse
