Emmy's 2012 Fashion Favorites

Hello, lovelies. I was driving back from a weekend away during the Emmy's last night so apologies for the missed "Live Blogging" opportunity. I have been searching through the photos from last night's awards show and there are some definite favorites.

Trends that crept in...
Colors: Oxblood, yellow, shades of green and blue
Styles: mermaid, plunging neckline and high/low hem
Earrings, not necklaces with minimal jewelry

Enjoy!

Shades of sea foam green were making a major statement on the red carpet, as well as the sexy mermaid silhouette. I really loved the freshness of Heidi Klum's Alexandre Vauthier gown.

In keeping with shades if green, the emerald Oscar de la Renta gown worn by Allison Williams was sexy and sophisticated. The half peplum and architectural neckline worked well on her frame.

Zooey Deschanel, wearing Reem Acra, I adore you. New Girl is one of my favorite shows but please stop hunching your shoulders. We get that it is quirky and cute but we don't want to see you with a hunched over back. Stand up straight and flaunt that tulle covered dress.

Oxblood, the color for Fall, made a bit of a showing. Julia Louis-Dreyfus made a great choice with this custom Vera Wang dress, the chiffon overlay was lovely.

I must give the ladies props for attempting the bold shades of yellow, it could be one of the most difficult colors to wear. Julie Bowen knocked it out of the park with a Monique Lhuiller gown. The gathering at mid-thigh is just the right amount of flair, without the dress would have no character and too much would be difficult on the eye.

Some say that black is too safe but Amy Poehler showed us how daring, timeless and classy the color can be in Stella McCartney.
