Met Gala: McQueen at his best

Last night was the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala paying tribute to the late and great Alexander McQueen. The stars were out in full force and while many of the choices were safe, there were some standouts, like Jay-Z and Beyonce, Liv Tyler and Blake Lively. My number one may go to Ginnifer Goodwin, she rocked a gorgeous kelly green gown from non other than TopShop. Shades of green had a presence at the event, from dresses, to shoes to earrings, tiny pops of this delightful spring color made its way down the red carper. The McQueen exhibit, "Savage Garden", where over 100 of his designs will be on display, opens on Wednesday at the Met. Enjoy!

Obsessed - Shearling Boots

So, I know it is 90 degrees out but I am obsessed with these ridiculously sharp McQueen Boots. I am not wishing for winter but when it arrives I know what I will dream of wearing!

Alexander McQueen, Rest in Peace

It is with great sadness to report that Alexander McQueen is no longer with us. It is being reported, and since confirmed, that the talented London based designer has committed suicide. McQueen was scheduled to show his Fall 2010 line in Paris on March 10th.

Let's take a moment to reflect on his artistic prowess and the beauty he gifted to us. McQueen was a visionary who not only designed fashion but created art. He will be greatly missed.

SAG Awards Fashion Recap

I was a bit disappointed in the lack of creativity in Screen Actors Guild Awards gowns this year. I know it isn't the Oscars, or the Globes, but it is still an awards ceremony, and as an avid awards show fashion analyzer, I was hoping for more excitement. Who were your favorites? Leave a comment below!

I LOVED that Anna Paquin leaps in feet first with this Alexander McQueen cocktail dress. It translated so beautifully off the runway.

There were a few color trends including white, blue and red, with silver, purple and green thrown in the mix. Fingers crossed that these lovely ladies are holding out on us for one spectacular Oscars red carpet on March 7th.
