Happy New Year!
Happy 2011. The year has started off with a cold front here in NYC. I am trying to enjoy the chill, and not dream of pink sand beaches and days of endless warmth, by bundling up in my favorite coats, hats, scarves and mittens. Shopping around Soho on Saturday, inevitably, led me to J.Crew and again I am wishing to be in warmer weather. Check out some pieces from their j'adorable (and wearable) resort collection. Enjoy!

New logo, new skirt lengths
Frolic in Tulle needed a little rejuvenation, a new pep in her step. Maybe I'll follow google and update the logo with the seasons and holidays, fashion is ever changing and evolving, we should, too. Just don't let us go the way of the "Gap", we wouldn't want that mishap on our record.
So, with the change and renewal comes changing skirt lengths. Sure, the mini is still relevant and accessible but more and more designers are opting for a less short silhouette. Slightly above the knee and below the knee is out in force for resort 2011. In order to keep from appearing dowdy, keep your proportions in check...

Resort 2011
Resort season has developed into two different wardrobes: first, a new selection of clothes for those traveling to warmer destinations (Hello St. Barts), and second, a continuation of fall (Hello frigid NYC). Personally, I prefer the first interpretation, but I understand the bottom line and giving more options to a very dreary weather season is most likely better for the bottom line.
So, I will dare to dream of a luscious tropical location where I can escape and wear these lovely and delightful standouts.
