The Met Costume Institute Gala 2013

The Met Costume Institute's newest installment is "Punk: Chaos to Couture" and it's big kickoff was last night at the annual gala. Member previews are May 7 and 8. The exhibit runs from May 9 - August 14, 2013.

It's perfect timing for punk to make it's way into the headlines as it is a major trend for Fall 2013. While some of the ensembles from last night's event were full on punk most were just influenced by the trend, which is my favorite interpretation. To just have hints of punk or goth keeps the look edgy and new without going full blown "costume."

Shoe trend: lots of pointy closed toe heels on the carpet. See Kate Bosworth, Carey Mulligan and Julianne Hough, to name a few.

And now to the best looks of the night... Rock on!
