Love affair with hats

Haute couture is having a bit of a love affair with hats. Denim, tulle, leaves, sequins, veiled. Creative adornments for the often neglected head. What began in the middle ages as a decree from the church that a woman's head must be covered, evolved into a full blown profession in the 18th century, known today as Milliners. As we all know, Coco Chanel began her career as a milliner, creating the epic fashion label later on.

Spring Couture 2010 - Chanel, Armani Prive, and Givenchy

Another lovely Spring Couture season is upon us.  High shine is on the mind of these great fashion houses, as well as space and futurism, but not so much so that it becomes unappealing. The shapes and designs are pleasing to couture customers and fashion lovers who love to ogle, dream and find inspiration.

Chanel: Pastel suits with your choice of skirt and shorts. Loving the high shine tights!

Armani Prive: Swoops and shimmer.

Givenchy: Feathers and frills. Oversize pillbox hat, optional.

Dior Haute Couture Spring 2010

Here is a quick look at one of the dresses from Christian Dior S/S 2010 Haute Couture which strutted down the runway in Paris today, designer John Galliano seems to be in a playful riding mood.

Someone must wear this to the Oscars, gorgeous. More looks included opera gloves, riding hats with veils, long plaid skirts, lace, frills and draping.
