Baby, it's gonna be cold outside

I am just slightly obsessed with checking the weather, I mean, doesn't one have to be in order to create the best ensemble for the day. I would hate to wear a box-pleat skirt if the wind is sweeping in at 20 mph or wear a cashmere cardigan and tights when it's 80 and humid.

I check the weather and plan accordingly. Lately, I will admit, this weather checking has gone a bit far with tracking weather patterns for hurricanes and trends for the winter, I blame the terrible movies about the earth being destroyed by weather related storms, but I digress.

Accuweather is my go to, if I don't like what I see I check weather.com and weatherbug for accuracy and consistency (I know, I have a problem). Accuweather has predicted a very cold and blustery winter for the Northeast and I want to be prepared. (see image below)

Coats, hats, gloves, tights, you know, all the necessary items to be bundled up and oh so chic. You saw my hat choices a couple of weeks ago (click here to see them again). Now, we delve into coats.

A great coat is beyond important. I am referring to a coat that you can wear with almost anything, work, going out, running to Bloomies, main/pedi appointment, you get the point. You want lining, you want warm, you want chic and you want it to last. Spend a little extra on a piece that will take you through a couple seasons, it will be worth it! Just stick to the classics, you can always change out the belt, add some flare or replace buttons to keep up with trends.

Enjoy!
