What's new Wednesday: Back to Fall

I haven't been in school for many, many years but my love of the back to school shopping experience hasn't changed. There was always such excitement in planning the first day of school outfit, it makes me giddy just remembering it.

Nowadays my school is a combination of Mommy and me classes with the Little Guy, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the fresh start of Fall. If I'm excited for school, he will be, too!

Looking to update your fall wardrobe? Let me know what you are searching for and I will send you a lookbook of ideas. Tweet me @stylebyrisso

Enjoy xo!

Jewelry Box

As of now, my jewelry storage consists of pushpins for necklaces, a bowl for rings, a bowl for earrings and an old gift box for bracelets. I would never treat my clothes so poorly, why must I subject my jewelry to such conditions. It is time for a nice cozy place for them to stay. So, I asked for a jewelry box for Christmas.

I love this idea for using wall space...thanks Design*Sponge...your jewelry becomes art (which of course, it already is!)

Here are a few others... Enjoy!

Tree stand jewelry box. Place it atop a bureau or wide nightstand.

Standing jewelry armoire. Perfect for a corner in a bedroom that you're just not sure how to decorate.

Traditional countertop jewelry box. Simple and lovely.

I asked for this one...

Sleek, lots of nooks and crevasses for rings, oh and it locks!

And a jewelry case would not be complete without a few new fabuluous peices...

This link necklace is long and versatile. Wear this by itself or stacked with other lengths and metals. This is an easy go to for any wardrobe.

The statement necklace is the wow in your ensemble. For day wear this over a crew neck longsleeve cashmere sweater dress with tights and boots. For night, dazzle in a strapless LBD, sheer tights and open toe platforms. This is a piece that will take you places.

The fantastically gorgeous Bulgari Parentesi cocktail ring, because a girl can dream that anything lives amongst her jewelry.

Chritopher Phelan is a jewelry designer in New York. His pieces are unique and one of a kind.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Christopher for an Animal Haven fundraiser last year. His designs are beautifully hand crafted using gold, silver, gemstones and pearls.

Shimmery Fall Moment

I am kind of loving the metallic, shimmer moment fashion is having right now. It's fun to sparkle when I chassé down the street (and by chassé, I mean expertly trying not to fall in rockin' 4 inch platform oxfords while maneuvering grates and tourists).

The great thing about "the sparkle moment" is the range of colors, styles and pieces that can be worked into any wardrobe. Do you flaunt a basic suit for the office? Throw on a metallic bib necklace to add some texture and shine to your day. Do you have a basic white blouse? Awesome, pair it with strappy heels and a shimmering skirt for the evening. Going to brunch in your favorite tie-collar dress? Grab a slinky, shiny jacket/cardigan to bring that merino wool blend to life.

Enjoy!

Baubles

One flashy piece is all you need to make a simple outfit brilliant. No need for earrings with these great baubles. Add one bangle bracelet or single stone ring and you are set. I envision most of these with my office attire since I enjoy making my classic pieces bounce with a bit of flare.
