Adorable! Work, going out, cleaning the house, really for anything.

Loving the cashmere shawl sweater. Warm and Cozy, as well as chic

Spring and Summer Trend Review

So, we are well into Spring and inching closer to Summer each day. It is time for a recap, a little reminder of what to wear for the glorious sun filled season ahead. I picked three from the plethora of trends from Spring 09. Get excited!

Color - Bold
If ever there was a time to ransack those old boxes of 80's pop color, now would be it. Make it fast though, you have Rocker Chic to get ready for in the fall. Bold against black is the best and most easily worn combo. It can be pulled off with a bright cardigan over a simple black dress, add pops of color through accessories or be super brave and wear it as a statement.

Safari - Neutrals
A few weeks back I featured this trend with a few of my favorite pieces. Well, as we moved closer to Summer the options have increased and so has my favorites list! This has great versatility and we will see the neutrals continue through the fall (but will have a little shine added to them).

Geometric - Black and White
Easy to wear and easier to find. This trend has really taken off from high end to budget retailers. Make sure that the pattern fits your body type, the pattern should accent your favorite parts not make them enemy #1. As for fall, we will see the geometry more in the structure rather than in the pattern.

Pretty Petals

There is something soft and whimsical about wearing petal adorned attire. The fabrics are lush, the cuts flattering and the textures free flowing.

Petals, when done right, are feminine and never prairie-farm matronly. These aren't the boho-chic patterns that are also adorning the racks, but sophisticated details that add texture, whimsy and fun to the pieces they create. Whether worn all over, on the foot, or floating on a bag, these petals will make you bloom all over.

Enjoy!

2009 Oscar Fashion Re-cap

I just wasn't that floored this year with the dresses. None were super standouts for me, maybe I have become too picky and expecting of great things but I was waiting for a "WOW" moment and it never really arrived.

Natalie Portman
* Raspberry color is fresh and lovely
* Love the bodice detail

Miley Cyrus
*While not he greatest Miley fan she really did have the most age appropriate dress.
*I think we forget she is only 15, so lots of layers and beading are spot on

Sarah Jessica Parker
*Oh SJP, love the ballerina dress with belt accessory.

Marissa Tomei
*I pray that I look this good at 44
*Beautifully sculpted gown and right on trend with the origami details

Heidi Klum
*Fun and Funky, but glam enough for the Oscars??

Diane Lane
*Simple and stunning per usual

Anne Hathaway
*I really like the bodice and paillette detail of her gown. The pooling of the fabric at the hem is gorgeous, but why the creamy color??

Spring 2009 Couture

There are a few characteristics that I love about Couture, and no not Juicy Couture, the real couture, as in Paris fashion houses that make a limited number of one of a kind hand made pieces that sell for more than $12,000.

This is not retail fashion, this is wearable art. This is inspiration for pleats, gathers, color, tucks, sleeves. This is walking into a closet full of candy and wearing it all day!

I love that it is...
