Spring/Summer Couture 2011
What a treat and a half on this ridiculous frigid day! I wasn't expecting to post any Spring/Summer Couture 2011 photos until tomorrow but hear are a few from Christian Dior and the genius that is John Galliano... hello vixen. The sleek hair, the layers and gathers that cinch the waste, loving it, and the opera gloves bring the entire look into perfect femininity. Enjoy!

Back in New York, Couture on my mind
Good morning! So, I have returned from Paris and the south of France. Lovely, delightful, exciting and relaxing are only a few of the adjectives I could use for this trip.
On the first leg of my flights home, I picked up the International Herald Tribune and discovered a special report by Suzy Menkes, "Dior Blooms Brightly". What a fantastic way to spend the hour long flight from Nice to Paris, delving deep into a recap of the Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture delights that John Galliano created.

His flower dresses literally spoke to me, especially after I spent a full day at the Ephrussi de Rothschild gardens in Cap Ferrat.

...and snapping up photos of lushly landscaped cliff side villas.

Lots more to report on the Fall 2010 Couture tomorrow.
oh and Kate LOVED the south of France...

Resort 2011
Resort season has developed into two different wardrobes: first, a new selection of clothes for those traveling to warmer destinations (Hello St. Barts), and second, a continuation of fall (Hello frigid NYC). Personally, I prefer the first interpretation, but I understand the bottom line and giving more options to a very dreary weather season is most likely better for the bottom line.
So, I will dare to dream of a luscious tropical location where I can escape and wear these lovely and delightful standouts.

Floral for Spring
Soft, elegant, ethereal. A few terms that signify one of the highlights of Spring 2010. Runways were a garden of floral prints and embroidery. There were dresses, skirts, blouses, heels, even knickers.
Enjoy!
Here are some affordable options...
Add a ruffled embellished cardigan for a soft look , like the one below from J. Crew.
Appreciate a little edge? Toughen up with a motorcycle jacket, like this one from ASOS.

Dior Haute Couture Spring 2010
Here is a quick look at one of the dresses from Christian Dior S/S 2010 Haute Couture which strutted down the runway in Paris today, designer John Galliano seems to be in a playful riding mood.
Someone must wear this to the Oscars, gorgeous. More looks included opera gloves, riding hats with veils, long plaid skirts, lace, frills and draping.
More to come from Paris Couture... Enjoy!
