What's new Wednesday

Frolic in Tulle is 2 years old this month. What a feeling.

I took some time to view old posts and discovered a "What's new Wednesday" that incorporates the high end Net-a-Porter pieces with more affordable options. Hello, concept. So, I am bringing it back.

Thank you for reading Frolic in Tulle, I hope it inspires you, helps you and leaves you feeling stylish.

Today let's look at a few black bases with some pops of color. Enjoy!

Pattern Dress

My darling friend, An, told me she loved this adorable dress from Anthro.

I could not agree more. Pattern dresses are spot on for Spring. I switched my closet from fall/winter to spring/summer last weekend, I may need a few of these to fill in the gaps. It's time to add some color to the wardrobe.

Enjoy!

What's new Wednesday

What is new on this lovely Wednesday? Jackets my dears, jackets.

Jackets are a wonderful staple for Spring. With chilly mornings, warm afternoons and brisk evenings, layering is the best way to dress for March, April and May. Jackets can add punch to a black dress, sass to a pair of jeans and class to any work ensemble (not matchy matchy, though). Add this to your MUST list. Tailoring is essential, as a well fitted jacket can last several seasons.

Spring garden party

Let's say you are invited to a delightful garden party here...

What to wear? This adorable Marc By Marc skirt. This is going to be a spring staple. Glam it up with a sleeveless leather hoodie and simple flat sandals.

Leather hoodie at Top Shop and sandals at Nordstrom

Or this lovely floral Rebecca Taylor dress with espadrilles.

Floral for Spring

Soft, elegant, ethereal. A few terms that signify one of the highlights of Spring 2010. Runways were a garden of floral prints and embroidery. There were dresses, skirts, blouses, heels, even knickers.

Enjoy!
Anna Sui
Chanel
 Collette Dinnigan

Erdem
 Christian Dior

Here are some affordable options...

Add a ruffled embellished cardigan for a soft look , like the one below from J. Crew.

Appreciate a little edge? Toughen up with a motorcycle jacket, like this one from ASOS.
